** MODIFIEDS and LATE MODELS 
OPEN TIRE RULE.  **


**Four Cylinder Stock Specifications **

1. All cars must be 4-cylinders non-turbo charged front wheel drive American or foreign stock passenger cars.  No pick-up trucks, jeeps, or convertibles permitted.  Cars must have full solid steel roof. spoilers, wings, wind deflectors, etc. permitted.  Bodies must remain stock.  Cars must be factory with 12", 13" or 14" wheels only.  Wheels may only be maximum 6" wide and steel.

2. INTERIOR of cars must be gutted of all combustible materials including carpeting, door and quarter trim panels, headliners and all seats.  The dash may remain.  Driver's seat must be a reacing seat with atleast a 5 point racing harness and must be securely fastened to frame and in good working condition.  A window net is mandatory for driver's side door. 

3. All doors must be welded shut with a minimum of two 1/8" x 1"x6" steel flats welded along the body side.  Top of window frames to roof must be welded shut with minimum of 1/8" x 1" x10" steel flat.  Front and rear bumper systems must remain stock.  No additional bracing or tubing behind bumper mounting brackets permitted.  Bumper shocks must remain functional.  Roll cage must be a four post desin and top of roll bar must be connectede to form a box section and be at least four inches above driver's head.  Bar must be securely fasted to FRAME by WELDING.  No screwed pipe fittings allowed.  All roll bars must be a minimum of  .090 wall thickness.  Seamless tubing of 1 1/4" or seamed tubing of 2" outside diameter must be used.  Must have atleast three door bars on driver's side and two door bars on passenger side.

4. ALL glass and plastic trim must be removed from the outside of the bod.  All headlights, tailights, marker lights, grilles, mirrors, door handles and any miscellaneous exterior plastic must be removed. Windshield may remain.  No additional cutting away or cutting down any of the car's body is permitted.

5.ALL suspension and steering parts must remain stock.  No beefing up or replacing of suspension or steering parts with heavy-duty parts is permitted.  Tires must be steel belted radials of 65, 70 or 75 series only and must carry DOT number.  All tires on car must be of the same size.

6. ALL radiators, gas tanks, and batteries must remain in stock location.  No additonal cooling systems permitted.  Radiators must have overflow catch can.  Gas tanks and filler neck assemblies remain must stock.  Cars must run complete stock air cleaner assembly.  Fuel cells may be relocated in trunk.  Trunk floor must remain stock.  No lowering of fuel cells.

7. Cars must have a minimum or 20" high number taped or painted on doors.  

8. ALL cars must have an approved fully charged fire extinguisher securely mounted with reach of driver.

9. Driver fire resistant uniforms and a helmet with a face shield is MADTATORY.  A neck brace, fire resistant gloves, headsock, and underwear are recommended.

10. Seat belts and Snell 985 approved helmets must be worn at ALL times when car is under power.

11. No devices such as radios for communication are permitted.

Pro Stock Specifications**

Any North American made car 1968-present.  This division was created as a controlled, economical and competitive form of entry level racing.  The race cars remain as stock as possible to control costs.  No jeeps, state wagons, compact cars, trucks, fourwheel drive vehicles, convertibles or corvettes.  NO Enduro Cars.

FRAMES:

1. Frames MUST remain STOCK and match the body style.

2. Cars with uni-body construction must be connected from the rear of the front clip to the front of thr rear clip.  Frame material can be used to tie uni-body together.

3. Must have entire front clip. (stock front clip)

4. Wheel base must be in accordance with factory body specifications, 2x3 rear frame section may be used, but must follow stock specifications.

5. Minimum 103" wheelbase allowed.

6. Roll cage must be four post design.  Top of  roll bar must be connected to form a box section and be at least four inches above driver's head.  Bar must be securely fasted to FRAME by WELDING.  No screwed pipe fittings allowed.  All roll bars must be a minimum of .090 wall thickness.  Seamless tubing of 1 1/4" or seamed tubing of 2" outside diameter must be used.  Must have at least three (3) door bars and driver's side and two (2) door bars on passenger side.

7. Bracing around engine and radiator required with a maximum 2" pipe.  One loop must be used with bracing allowed on each side from loop to frame and must be tied into main roll cage.  Bracing must be kept inside fenders.  No bracing may extend beyond bumpers.  No sharp edges allowed. No EXTREME bracing allowed.

8. Two (2) bars must run from top of roll cage to rear frame.  Bracing must be inside trunk.

9. Cars must have securely fastened front and rear bumpers AT ALL TIMES.

10. Rub rails are not permitted.

SUSPENSION:

1. All suspension parts must be stock or stock replacement and mounted in stock location.

2. No coil-over racing type shocks or heim end shocks. All springs must remain in stock location.  One weight jack per wheel.  No heim ends anywhere.  No movement of suspension components in any way.

3. Rears can be dropped and blocks are permitted under rears. Adjustable blocks under rears.  No rear sliders permitted.  No slotters on leaf springs.

4. Must have operational four (4) wheel brakes.

5. Front shocks must be in stock location.  Rear shocks may be relocated.

6. Control arms must remain in stock location.  No lengthening or shortening of lower control arms.

7. Upper A-frames may be modified or after market top A-frames may be used.

WHEELS & TIRES:

1. Steel wheels only with eight (8) inch maximum rim width.  All wheels must be reinforced and be attached with oversize lug nuts.  Steel beadlocks are allowed.

2. Track tire rule: maximum tire width is 10" outside side wall.

CARBURETOR:

1. Stock box Holly-model 4412-500 CFM
2. NO external or internal modification allowed.
3. Gasoline only.  No alcohol.  No additives.
4. You may remove choke plate and rod only.
5. Carb will be checked with a No-Go gage.
6. Track has right to exchange carbs if carb is in question.

TRANSMISSION & REAR END:

1. Ford 9" rear optional with stock mounts in stock location on any model car.

2. Stock rears only.  Rears may be locked and gears may be changed.

3. Stock transmission only.  Automatic transmission must have working stock torque converter.  Transmission must be GM to GM, Ford to Ford, etc.  Must have working reverse.

4.Stock type clutch only.  No aluminum flywheels.  No mutli-disc clutch.

5. Drive shaft loops required.

6. Drive shaft must be painted a bright color.

7. A two (2) inch diameter viewing hole located two (2) inches behind the flywheel is required.  Dust covers must be easily removed for tech inspection.

MISCELLANEOUS

1. Car numbers must be at least 18" high and 2" wide and painted on both sides.

2. No rear view mirrors or radios for communication allowed.

ENGINES:

1. Maximum engine size is 366.  Modifications are NOT ALLOWED.  Must use GM in GM, Ford in Ford, etc.  NO light weight parts of any type.  We are trying to keep cost down.

2. Stock flat top pistons only.

3. Stock original equipment two barrel or four barrel in-take is permitted.  Adapters permitted.  Headers permitted.  Aluminum in-take permitted.

4. Dart or Angle-Plug heads are permitted.  No aluminum heads.

5. Hydraulic or solid cams are permitted.

6. Roller TIP rockers are permitted. NO roller cams or roller lifters.  High valve covers are permitted.  Stock type ignition only.  No super coils or MSD ignition.

7. Motor may not be set back past  No. 1 plug to center ball joint.

8. No dry pump oil systems.

BODIES:

1. After market bodies are permitted.  Body must maintain street car appearance, represented as they came from the factory.  Body match engine of car.  Body must be securely fastened.   sharp, loose or ragged edge panels will be permitted.  Race cars Nomust be safely maintained and kept in presentable condition.

2.Car must have stock floor from door to door; it may be replaced with steel only.  No aluminum.  Gutting of doors, truck lid and hood are allowed.

3. ALL GLASS MUST BE REMOVED.  No windshields are permitted.  No broken glass may be in any part of car including door panels.

4. Window screens are mandatory in place of windshield.

5. Original firewall in stock location and must be completely enclosed.  No open holes. No aluminum.

6. Cars must have complete steel firewall between trunk and driver.  No aluminum.

7. All flammable materials must be removed from car.

8. No spoilers.

9. Plastic bumpers permitted providing they cover steel bumper.

10. Inner denfer wells can be removed from the rear end of car and the innder deck panels can be removed and replaced with new metal.

11. The fuel cells can be placed and lowered between the frame rails.  It may not sit lower than the center of the rear end.

12. No boxing of driver's compartment.

SAFETY:

1. Seat belts MUST be properly attached to the frame or roll cage and be in good, operable condition.

2. Approved 5-point seat belts, shoulder harness and anti-sub belt mandatory.

3. Only SNELL approved full-faced helmets MUST be worn whenever the car is in operation.

4. Fire suits and flame retardant gloves are MANDATORY

5. A fire extinguisher must be mounted inside race car in reach of driver.

6. Driver's side window net is MANDATORY.

7. Racing seat with head rest is required and must be securely mounted to the roll cage.

8. Fuel cell is mandatory and must be securely fastened with at least two (2) one inch straps inside the trunk.

9. Steel trunk floor may be altered to allow fuel cell placement between frame rails.

10. Fuel cells may not sit lower than the rear end.

11. Fuel cell vent hose MUST extend equally to or lower than the bottom of fuel cell.

12. The battery may be relocated but must be securely fastened and have protective covering regardless of location.

WEIGHT

1. WEIGHT RULE:  Total weight of car and driver may not be less than 2,800 LBS.  Weigh-in to be after any event; top five finishers from main event will be measured as car comes off the track in the condition that it took the checkered flag.  Bolt-on weight is permitted and must be permitted a florescent color with car number identification.  Total weight to be measured by Clinton County Speedway scales, located in the infield before entering pit area.  Failure to cross scales results in automatic disqualitfication.

2. The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are desgined to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and, by participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.  No express or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of compliance with these rules and/or regulations.  They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official.

*Please note that the Race Director/ Organizers shall be empowered to permit minor deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the mininum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications.  Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials.  The officials decision is final.

                                        **Late Model Rules**

ELIGIBLE MODELS:

(a) This division is limited to 1980 through current American Manufactured stock car bodies.

(b) Cars MUST have type of car displayed on body with 3" minimum letters. Examples: Camaro, Monte Carlo, Mustang, Probe, T-Bird, Grand Prix, etc.

BODIES:

(a) The body must conform to current nationally accepted Late Model Body specifications rules.

FRAMES:

(a) NO aluminum frames or front clips may be used in construction.

(b) Wheel base 102" minimum.

(c) The wheel base of all cars MUST be constructed of 2"X2" MINIMUM rectangle or square tubing wiht a MINIMUM of 8" circumference and a MINIMUM of .083" wall thickness or a minimum 1 3/4"  round tubing and minimum wall thickness of .095" DOM or equivalent.

ROLL CAGES:

(a) Cars MUST have a suitablesteel roll cage in drivers compartment including headrest.

(b) Side roll bars are MANDATORY and MUST extend into the door panels.

(c) A MINIMUM of four bars MUST be used on the left side. (3 bars right side)  Each bar must be at least 1 1/2" in diameter with thickness of .095".

(d) Roll cage MUST be welded to the frame.

(e) Roll cage MUST be above drivers helmet. 3" clearance hemet to roll cage is a must.

INTERIORS:

(a) Interior may be dropped to the middle of the car NO more than 3" below the top of the door and MUST be at least 12" below the roll cage.

(b) Interior MUST gradually taper up to the quarter panel height and be level for 32" from rear of the quarter panel.

(c) Interior MUST be fastened flush at the top of the doors and quarter panels and may taper gradually towards the center of the car, NOT creating a lip effect. MINIMUM of 8" taper, MAXIMUM 3" drop extending from firewall to rear of door pieces in a continuous line.

(d) Interior MUST run in a straight line from behindthe drivers seat to the rear spoiler.

(e) If interior is flat through the car, it MUST maintain a 12" clearance from roll cage for easy exiting from either side of car.

SPOILER:

(a) Rear spoiler MUST be manufactured of material of adequate strength, material MAXIMUM 8" height measure from deck to tip of material.  MAXIMUM 72" width.

(b) Rear spoiler CANNOT be suspended above the deck to create a wing effect.

(c) Rear spoiler MUST begin wihere quarter panels end. NO extended decks.

ENGINES:

Only American manufactures block, (GM, Ford, MOPAR or Dart products).  All casing numbers must remain .430 cubic inch maximum displacement.

Silver Springs Legal 358 cu. in. engines must meet a minimum weight of 2300 LBS.


All other engines combinations must meet a minimum weight of 2400 LBS.

Maximum car weight: 2800 LBS.

Engines may not be placed further back than 6" from forward most sparking plug centerline to in line with both top ball joints.
NO titanium or exotic material crankshafts of connecting rods permitted.  Oil pan is to have a minimum 3/4" inspection plug in left side of pan opposite the number one rod journal, any windage tray which would block the view of the rod must be removed.  This is for magnet use or pan could be required to be taken off.  Steel and aluminum heads allowed.  All roller cams or roller lifters allowed.  Toller rockers allowed.

Intake- aluminum or cast iron 2 or 4 barrel.
A 2" maximum car. adapter/spacer plate may be used.
No traction control devices.

**NOTE 2008**
And future years will read 358 cu. in., steel block motors only.  With no carburetor size limit or fuel size limit.

CARBURETOR/FUEL: ONLY ONE CARBURETOR ALLOWED

A maximum of  4 barrels of carbutration. Single Carburator only. super chargers, fuel injection, or turbo chargers. NoNo predator carbs.

FUEL SYSTEMS:

(a) An approved fuel cell (32 gallon MAXIMUM) MUST be securely mounted in the trunk area of the car inside a 20-gauge metal box supported by two (2) 1/8"x2" steel straps.

(b) A firewall MUST be installed between the fuel tank and driver's compartment.

(c) ALL fuel cells MUST be completely visible from rear of car.  Fuel cell MUST NOT be mounted lower than bottomof quick-change rear end and be adequately protected.

(d) NO pressurized fuel systems.

(e) Nitrous gases or other nitrate aditives are NOT permitted.

(f) Fuel may be tested at any time.

TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH:

(a) Drive train MUST have transmission mounted on the rear of engine and lead to one(1) drive shaft.  NO direct drive or in-out boxes permitted.

(b) Any transmission with working forward and reverse gears is permitted.

(c) Manual transmission MUST be equipped with an operational clutch.

(d) Cars equipped with external clutch must use certified safety bell housing.

(e) Automatic transmissions are permitted.

REAR DIFFERENTIALS:

(a) All cars must have locked rear ends.  No limited slip, posi-traction or traction control differentials allowed.

(b) Rear ends up to and including 1/2 tons truck and floaters will be allowed.  Quick change rear ends will be allowed.  Aluminum tubes allowed (optional) -no aluminum axles - no live axles.  Bird cages allowed.

(c) Drive shafts loop is mandatory.  Must completely surround the shaft.  Must be fabricated out of adequate material within 6 inches of front u-joint.

(d) All steel drive shafts must be painted white.  Aluminum drive shafts allowed.

SUSPENSION:

No mechanical or hydraulic devices will be allowed that will allow driver to shift weight or otherwise adjust handling characteristics while car is in motion.  Fifth or Sixth coil allowed.  Bearing type bird cages allowed.  Spring rods will be allowed for use of trailing arms.  A-frame cars only.  No straight front axles.

BRAKING:

All cars must have four-wheel brakes able to work upon request.  All components must be in place.  (Caliper-rotor-hose-etc).  Remote brake shut-off allowed.

JACKING DEVICES:

NO cockpit adjustable shock controls or adjusters, ANY driver useing cockput shock controls or adjustors or weight jacks will be found ILLEGAL.

BUMPERS AND NERF BARS:

(a) No visible front bumpers.  All cars must have an external provision in front for wreckers to hook for removing car from track.

(b) Rear Bumpers: If rear bumper is stuffed, it may only extend a maximum of 8" beyond the frame.  Any stuffed rear bumper that extends 8" or more beyond the frame must be rounded and directed towards the front of the car 8".

(c) No external nerf bars allowed.

(d) No rough edges on the bumper or nerf bar will be allowed.  Welds must be smooth-open ends of all pipes must be capped and smooth including front bumper under front covering.  This will be checked by technical inspector.

EXHAUST:

(a) Mufflers are recommended.

(b) CANNOT point towards ground.  MUST be parallell to track.

WHEELS:

Bead lock wheels allowed on all corners, steel or aluminum only, 14 inch maximum.
 
TIRES:

Either
Hoosier "Spec" tire - Compound of D15 or harder or Hoosier "Open Competition" tire compound 1300 or harder. Nothing softer. No "treating" of tires to soften compound. All tires must meet a minimum durometer reading of 32 at any time. The track durometer is the offiicial measuring device.

Maximum circumference permitted is ninety-three inches (93"). No Tolerance.

Maximum
cross section width is sixteen and three-quarters (16 3/4"). NO Tolerance.

No buffing or tapping over the tire's size, compound, or lettering.


COSMETIC:


All cars must be painted and neat.  No solid dark colored cars.  Must have contrasting light color.  Severely damaged body panels and bumpers must be replaced at discretion of Inspector.
